What’s hot on our radar this week? A series of YouTube videos spoofing the Pure Michigan commercials displaying beloved Michigan towns in a less than positive light. The videos were created by John Kerfoot, a seasoned Detroit video producer and instructor at Wayne State University. Watch them after the jump, then tell us what you think: Are the videos funny or offensive?

Editor’s Note: The above Royal Oak spoof was removed shortly after publishing this post. Hope it wasn’t on account of us.

To the people who are truly "offended" by this… lighten up a little. These spoofs are meant to make you laugh and just like a lot of comedy they are crude but that's what makes em' so damn funny. Personally I don't see what is so untrue about a lot of these places. The videos depict a multitude of positive elements about places in Michigan, followed by a hilarious and true observation. Mackinac has a lot of horse shit, St. Clair has a ton of fish fly's, and Royal Oak is chalked full of douchbags. Its common knowledge.

I love the spoofs because they are right on! Douche bag city is Royal Oak. And I live there and love it.

I have seen all the videos and I must say I have laughed my butt off and enjoyed them all. None of them to me is seen in a negative light to Michigan.

I think that while some of the videos are funny and pretty true, this guy really needs to watch his bashing of gay people. Almost every video mentions something about gays or lesbians (UofM, RO, Saugatuck). Is that necessary? On his facebook page he uses the phrase "That's the gayest thing I've ever done" and others like it. This guys pushing 40 and he obviously hasn't experienced enough in his life to grow out of his ignorance and realize that just like it's not OK to refer to negative things as "jewish" or "black" you really should call things that are bad "gay". For some reason I don't think it would fly for me to start saying "what's the blackest thing I've ever done"
