On Street Culture Mash:

Streetculturemash isn’t just a blog packed full of images of Detroit. While Mike Han (pictured) has recently recognized our love of chicken racing, fixed gears, crepes and hot pink heels (just not all at the same time), this blog is really about passion. After making some self-destructive decisions, he decided to change his life. “I looked deep and started to uncover who I was; I started to grow.” Thus, the blog. He describes it as a holistic movement, encouraging artistic discovery. Han gets to the heart of Detroit, inspires the artist within and exposes the creative culture of the city. All the while, he stays focused on making a positive difference — and rewarding others who do the same.

On I Am Young Detroit:

More like a living, breathing community than a blog, iamyoungdetroit.com shows us what it really means to get inspired. Margarita Barry’s mission is to reveal the community-oriented accomplishments of our Metro-area youth. We all have a special place in our hearts for Detroit, but IAYD impressively harnesses that love. It’s like you’ve just found a bottle on the ocean with a little note inside that reads: “The only thing the future holds is you.”
