It's that time of year again, filled with holiday cheer and ice sculpting in front of the DIA. Throughout Midtown, you'll get to see the best of our local shops, museums, and historic churches.
When One Door Closes, Another Opens

They say "when one door closes, another opens." As corney as it sounds, it couldn't be more true this holiday season in Detroit.

Harmonie Park's DSE will be closing it's retail shop at the end of the holidays (don't worry you can still pick up your gifts!), but only to expand itself as the brand it always aimed to be. It's not surprising the brand is outgrowing it's 190 square foot boutique, early this year we saw the introduction of a new logo as well as the announcement of seasonal lines. DSE will be taking over a much larger space, which will house it's new showroom and production studio.

Urban Legends and Sugar Skulls

You might be one of the many who celebrates Halloween for weeks before the Holiday, but if you're a procrastinator, you've still got a chance today and tomorrow!

There's plenty of Halloween fun in Midtown. Detroit is hosting it's own haunted house, Detroit Urban Legends, over on Cass & Selden! Then, grab some sushi at Wasabi surrounded by ghouls and ghosts-- they've went all out with the decorations.

If you're a Detroit sports fan, Lion Louis Delmas and Piston Charlie Villanueva are hosting the first annual, Bowling Spook-Tacular. The event will feature bowling and a costume contest, with 100% of the event proceeds going to charity.

Interested in doing some civic service Halloween night? Help keep the city safe by volunteering for Angels Night, or follow their tips to help out from home.

Midtown, Corktown…Banglatown?

Hamtramck is Detroit's own little city within a city, and while it can be annoying to spell, many Detroiters still consider it their own. Thousands travel there for Packzi Day each spring and head to the Hamtramck Blowout in March, but this area has been getting a bit of press lately.
